He argued that the US should equally educate everyone and allow the opportunity by arguing that the nation’s growth will depend on it. He is referred to as the “Father of the Common School Movement”

Important because he is likely why you are in school today, not only that but he also advocated to bring children of all ages together in a similar environment of interacting so it could create a common learning experience. This also grant the opportunity for women jobs, allowing females to take the job and experiance as a teacher.
