Lincoln questions Polk about location of deaths.

Exact DefinitionEdit

1847: Lincoln (in House of Reps.) asked James Polk to show him the spot on American soil where blood was spilt (starting the Mexican War). Lincoln was very persistent with this request of the location, eventually gaining the nickname Spotty Lincoln.

Shows that politicians didn't necessarily like Polk's handling of the war--he pretty much started it on purpose
